The + symbol is usually made by holding in one of the buttons. For my phone it's the 0 button.

:-( Went through all possibilities. International + is a no go on this phone. But I can see from google searches there are other Bell Canada customers using jaiku, so I'll hold onto the teeniest ounce of optimism.
